Welcome to the Candid Vet Nurse!

Updated: Jun 4, 2023

Hello and welcome to the Candid Vet Nurse!

A little introduction to get us acquainted. My name is Kate and I am proud to be a Veterinary Nurse (aka superhero, but hey I’m not biased). After having worked in the industry for over a third of my life I am passionate about all things animal care related. I love to educate, and my own learning journey is a continual process (none of us ever know everything!). As well as Veterinary Nursing I have qualifications in Environmental Science, Business and Vocational Education, and of course my Veterinary Nursing education is continually evolving – even the most experienced of us will always have something new to learn! If you are interested please learn more about me here.

Veterinary nursing, and the veterinary sector in general is such a hugely varied and highly skilled, often misunderstood industry. My mission here at the Candid Vet Nurse is to create a space for both pet owners and veterinary professionals to collaborate and learn – to debunk common veterinary myths, answer common pet related questions and gain further insights into topics of choice, as well as share candid personal stories from inside the veterinary world. Content will be uploaded regularly and will range from blog posts answering common questions, tips and tricks, to case studies and technical articles covering things such as common diseases and procedures to rare and interesting cases, personal funny and moving stories from inside the vet clinic, and even product and experience reviews.

This space is for you and as such suggestions, questions and comments are very much welcomed and encouraged! Do you have a similar experience you would like to share? Have a question about something in an article, or ideas for content you would love to see? Please go ahead and either contact us directly at candidvetnurse@gmail.com or leave a comment below. For more great content don't forget to check us out on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest or Twitter.

The first article – What Does a Vet Nurse Actually Do is a great starting point, and may contain surprising information for some.

Be kind, back yourself, give the critters in your life lots of love, and I look forward to sharing with and hearing from you.

Kate
